Amethyst is the debut single by Ross Arthur. Working with producer Jamie Turnbull- the song was recorded over several months, forming the huge, yet intricate production that it is today.
As a song, Amethyst is a heartfelt Pop-Rock statement- exploding with emotion.
lyrics
(Verse)
I love the way your happiness shines around me
I love that funny laugh that you know is so silly
When we’re together I don’t see day turn to night
Even in the darkness you’re the one who makes it bright
(Pre-Chorus)
You know I wasn’t looking when I found this gem
I would walk that path over and over again
Because I wasn’t looking where I was going at all
You made me fall
(Chorus)
Amy did you know?
Cause didn’t I tell you? didn’t I tell you?
With you, I have grown
Didn’t I tell you? Didn’t I tell you?
(Verse)
These rhyming words and simple chords might not be enough
To tell you how I feel but it’s how I deal with this stuff
I might frustrate you but you always smile in the end
Then I get to hear that funny laugh all over again…
(Pre-Chorus)
You know I wasn’t looking when I found this gem
I would walk that path over and over again
Because I wasn’t looking where I was going at all
You made me fall
(Chorus)
Amy did you know?
Cause didn’t I tell you? didn’t I tell you?
Now my wounds have sewn
Didn’t I tell you? Didn’t I tell you?
(Bridge)
I’ve come out the other side
(It was you pushing, it was you pulling)
Had to hang on to the ride
(it took our picture and we’re both smiling)
Now it’s time to move on forward, hang our heads high with nowhere to go
and where will we end up, who knows?
(Break)
So long as I hear that silly laugh, then that will do
So long as I hear that silly laugh, and I’m here with you
(Chorus)
Amy did you know?
Cause didn’t I tell you? didn’t I tell you?
Now that we can soar
We better get going, so let’s get going
